Light up a Life

Why your donation is so important

Your generosity will help Children’s Hospice South West care for over 450 life-limited children and their families.

Your donation helps provide a much needed hug for our families, a listening ear in the small hours, and the knowledge that they are not alone this Christmas.

We help and support children and their families who are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. We provide a loving and caring place for every member of every family who stays with us; a sanctuary for mums and dads, brothers and sisters. A place where everyone can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again and find expert help and support in facing an uncertain future.

Raising a smile this Christmas

For many of our families this year may be their last chance to have a family Christmas together. So, please make a donation today that will help us to bring our hospices to life with the sound of joy and laughter this Christmas.

Light up a Life

Christmas is a very special time of the year, where we reflect and remember those who are no longer with us. This festive season celebrate the life of a loved one and support your local hospice with our Light up a Life appeal.

Make a dedication

Light up a Life is for everyone, not just those touched by Hospice care. Take time this festive season to remember those someone special by making a dedication in our Book of Remembrance.

Your loved one’s name will be written in our Book of Remembrance, which can be viewed at each Light up a Life service and at Little Bridge House hospice.

At every service, a candle is lit to signify the names in this special book, so even if you are unable to attend, their memory will be captured in candle light.

To make a dedication, simply complete our online form to let us know the names of those special to you. We ask that you consider supporting care for local people and their families by making a donation. Your generosity will help Children’s Hospice South West care for over 450 life-limited children and their families.

Services

Join us at one of the special Light up a Life celebrations taking place across North Devon. Each service is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of your loved ones and give thanks for the memories. You will receive a candle on arrival to light in celebration.

This year, we have three services dedicated to Children's Hospice South West and a further 14 will be shared with North Devon Hospice, the local adult hospice. All donations made at the joint services are shared equally between both charities as the community comes together to remember those special to them.

If you are unable to attend one of the services or just prefer to remember at home, candles are available from our hospice shops and hospice reception for a small donation.
